that provide programming and/or services for girls and/or gender expansive youth in California, with a focus on the Bay Area and Los Angeles County.
Please note that the following is not a comprehensive directory of all girl and/or gender-expansive youth-serving organizations in California. In order to be included on AFG’s Girls Resource Hub, an organization must complete this form sharing the name of their organization, the ages of girls and/or gender-expansive youth they serve, the cost of their services, their contact information and website, and a brief description of the services that they provide to girls and/or gender-expansive youth.
AFG encourages all users to do more research about the organizations on this list if they are interested in accessing their services and/or programming to ensure it is a good fit for them. The list is intended only as a resource and inclusion on the list does not indicate endorsement of the organization by AFG’s Girls Resources Hub.
If you have any questions or concerns about the Girls Resource Hub or any of the organizations listed, please email us at kennedy@alliance4girls.org.

Guided by a mission of gender & LGBTQ justice, we partner with our clients to vindicate their rights and build power in their workplaces and schools. Our clients include low-wage women; lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) individuals; immigrants; military veterans; survivors of harassment as well as domestic and sexual violence; student-athletes; and other under-represented individuals. Focusing particularly on girls of color and girls who live in low-income communities, this work promotes the health, educational achievement, and future employment opportunities of girls. Girls who play sports have higher self-esteem and greater physical fitness; they make healthier decisions about drugs, alcohol, and relationships; and they earn higher wages as adults in the workplace.

Root & Rebound’s model is rooted in the needs and expertise of people who are directly impacted. We are lawyers, advocates, and activists committed to creating a more just and restorative society. We carry out this work through an innovative model which combines interconnected prongs to dismantle racial and economic inequity from all sides:
EDUCATE: In 2020, we educated and trained more people about the rights of justice-impacted people than ever before, reaching 5,500+ people with records, their families, and service providers who support them. Since our founding, we have educated and trained over 12,500 people.
ADVOCATE: R&R attorneys provided comprehensive free legal support to 1,800+ justice-impacted people and their families with 2,200+ different legal issues from reducing barriers to employment to reuniting with their children. Since our founding, we’ve provided legal support to more than 7,500 people.
REFORM: We continue to bring together directly impacted activists and movement partners to protect the rights of justice-impacted people. This year, we successfully opened pathways to housing, higher education, and employment for people with records. As we ramped up our reform work over the past three years, we’ve led and worked alongside coalitions to advance eight major legislative reforms in these arenas.

Once they’ve exited, we partner with youth so that they may avoid re-entering sexually exploitative circumstances and live free of harmful transactional relationships.
