AFG Advocacy Shareback Event

Join us on March 16, 2022 for our Community Shareback Event to learn more about Alliance for Girls’s collective advocacy efforts through 2022, share your feedback, and inform future actions as we continue to advocate for girls and gender-expansive youth at the local, county, and state level.

This informative gathering will update our membership, local and state leaders and advocates on our most recent initiatives, including our When Young Moms Thrive Initiative (WYMT) in partnership with the Young Women’s Freedom Center and the Office of Women’s Policy in Santa Clara County as well as the implementation of SB 1161, a statewide public transit safety bill we supported in 2022 in partnership with Chinese for Affirmative Action and the STOP AAPI Hate. ). Together, we will discuss the barriers girls and gender-expansive youth continue to face, hear updates on recent initiatives that impact youth, and share ideas and strategies that prioritize the advancement of girls and gender-expansive youth. Attendees will also be briefed on our advocacy actions for this year and of potential areas for collaboration and action.

The event will be hosted virtually on Zoom. It is free and open to members of the public. For questions, please contact de’anna@alliance4girls.org. With at least 48 hours prior to the event,  we’ll make  every effort to provide accommodation requests.

*“Girls and gender-expansive youth” refers to cis girls, trans girls, non-binary youth, gender non-conforming youth, gender queer youth and any girl-identified youth.
