Reporting to the Executive Director, the Communications Manager will set the vision and strategy and implement AFG’s communications work. In addition, this individual will help us get better at using a variety of mediums to effectively articulate AFG’s mission and lift up program initiatives and the work of our members.
Our successful candidate first and foremost has a commitment to equity and justice and also is strategic, a self-starter, organized, collaborative, and is a skilled writer with the ability to create and lead powerful communications and campaigns and tell stories that engage diverse audiences and drive action.

The Communication Manager will spearhead AFG’s storytelling opportunities and ensure our branding is consistent across all events. You may have read or heard about the expansion of our work and model to Los Angeles, and we’re excited about our upcoming kick-off and future plans to lift up our collective work. We also just celebrated our 10th anniversary last year and held our 7th annual #TheWorldWeImagine conference.
From supporting our youth leaders with op-ed writing to creating a plan to disseminate our research and taking interviews on KQED, the Communications Manager will play a key role in setting the vision for effective communications that will maximize our impact in advancing equitable communities in which every girl thrives.
