Uplifting data-driven policy and budget recommendations to elected officials

AFG works closely with girls and gender expansive youth and its member organizations to uplift key girl-driven research data and resulting recommendations to key government officials during the annual legislative and budgetary cycle. For example, in 2022, AFG presented its COVID-19 data and policy/budget recommendations, in partnership with MISSSEY and Black Girls Brilliance, to the California Women’s Caucus and the Women’s Caucus’ inaugural youth board to begin developing an open line of communication between these two agencies.
